Slow Cooker Salsa Verde Cheese Dip
Let’s be completely honest here from the get-go, game day around our house (even BIG game days) isn’t just about the actual game. Of course, the focus is on the field and rooting for your favored team, the FOOD is also something that we all look forward to on game day.
Whether you’re tailgating, or homegating and serving up your own big game spread…there’s usually an abundance of delicious food! Game day planning is something I tackle (see what I did there?) with the same amount of thought that I do for holiday meals.
Just like holiday spreads, game day spreads need to have a little bit of everything. Finger foods, dips, salty, sweet, and hearty grub. What the food also has to be is EASY!
An amazing spread that’s delicious and simple to prepare, I want to enjoy the game along with friends and family not be anchored to my kitchen.
Once I have my game day menu all set, a trip to Meijer is all I need to get equipped. For this game, I decided to make a Slow Cooker Salsa Verde Cheese Dip.
Slow Cooker dips are simply the BEST for buffet style munchies. They keep cheesy dips warm and are ideal for parties, holidays and game day feasting.
Along with a warm and cheesy dip, I needed dippers. What’s a great dip without dippers, right? I purchased Tyson® Crispy Chicken Strips which I found conveniently in the frozen food aisles.
Tyson Crispy Chicken Strips are perfect for game time meals and contain no antibiotics ever!!! They are 100% all natural (*minimally processed and no artificial ingredients added) chicken raised with no added hormones or steroids; grown on American farms and are amazing when dipped into delicious cheesy dips!
Next, I headed to the snack aisle where I added Snyder’s of Hanover® Mini Pretzels into my shopping cart. I figured we needed something with a hearty crunch while watching the game.
Snyder’s of Hanover Mini Pretzels are great with dips of all sorts including Slow Cooker Salsa Verde Cheese Dip. Snyder’s of Hanover brand has been America’s pretzel bakery since 1909 with a variety of flavors and forms for a wholesome, delicious crunch that always delights. No worries, they are made in a peanut free facility too.
Along with Slow Cooker Salsa Verde Cheese Dip, my game day table usually consists of a variety of cut veggies and dip along with something sweet like brownies or cookies. Being able to load a few items onto a plate easily and find a great spot in front of the TV is key. Icy cold beverages are normally kept in the fridge unless we’re tailgating and then they’ll be located in the cooler.
The beauty of serving Tyson Crispy Chicken Strips is that you can make just a few or the entire bag. Many times guests don’t arrive all at the same time, you can conveniently reseal the zippered bag and pop them back into the freezer.
When more guests come you can easily heat up an additional amount. They are so easy to make, I love keeping a bag in my freezer.
Game day prepping is no need for stressing! Purchase simple and delicious foods from Meijer such as Tyson Crispy Chicken Strips and Snyder’s of Hanover Mini Pretzels, whip up an easy dip or two and ENJOY!
