Looks pretty tasty! White beans are one of my favorites to use in soups. Especially when they are pureed.

I have this cooking in the crock pot right now. The whole house smells wonderful! I can hardly wait to actually taste the soup!
Suzanne
I’m trying this today for four hours on high, since my crockpot cooks on low for either eight or 10 hours. Looking forward to it!

We use our slow cooker more this time of year than any other time! So great to come home after a long summer day of playing and have dinner ready to go! Thank you for this wonderful recipe! My family will love it! <3

Why do you not freeze the chicken broth? Everywhere I have read it says chicken broth is ok to freeze. Is there a special reason for this soup?
Lori
I chose not to freeze the 32 oz. of chicken broth because the bag would simply be too full. You most certainly CAN freeze chicken broth, if you’d like. Opening and pouring in the carton while dumping the frozen contents is only one additional small step. Hope you enjoy!

A great dinner soup! It was even better the next day for lunch and equally great for a weekend lunch. The suggestion of serving it with a hearty bread was perfect.
Lori
Glad you enjoyed!

This looks delicious! Do you still cook the sausage before bagging? And could you use dried beans instead of canned? I’m new to cooking lentils/beans 🙂
Lori
Shelby, Definitely cook the sausage before placing into the slow cooker. And as for lentils, I have little experience with them, I normally use canned. Hope you enjoy!
Julie
This was amazing! It was my 4th meal of the 7 meals in an hour. Every single one has been a big hit so far. This has been my favorite and will be made again very soon. Thanks so much for the great recipes and taking the thinking out of cooking for me for a couple of weeks.
Lori
So glad you are enjoying Julie, thank you for stopping over!
Jess
I love this soup! I’ve made it many times and it’s just great and easy and filling!!
I have started tracking calories and carbs and would love to still eat this soup within my plan. Your recipe says it makes 6 servings–do you have an estimate of the size per serving? Maybe 2 cups?
I may just have to really measure it out the next time I make it!
Thanks for sharing your great recipes 🙂
Lori
Glad you are enjoying Jess. Your estimation is probably accurate, I’m not entirely sure but that sounds pretty close. Thanks for stopping over.
Maria
Sorry, but I am from Denmark, I dont understand what you do to the sausages 🙂 Could you please explain? In denmark we normally eat them whole or sliced?
Kind regards, Maria
Lori
Hi Maria, This variety of sausage is ground, so you break it up and cook it resulting in small pieces. You could certainly use a different variety in this soup depending on what you have available. Hope you enjoy.
Maria
So I guess Ground pork will do instead? Thats pretty common in Denmark. Or should it be spiced in any particular way?
Lori
I think that’s it! 🙂 I normally like to add my own spices and buy unseasoned.
Maria
Okay great, thanks… What kind of seasoning do you then use? (Sorry for all my questions, but the slow cooker isn’t native to me)
Amanda
I really wish you would rewrite this recipe, not in Caps lock. It’s extremely difficult to determine the seasoning amounts. Is it a teaspoon or tablespoon?
Lori
Hi Amanda, Thank you for kindly bringing that to my attention. For some reason, the formatting on this post was definitely messed up. The recipe card has been edited. Have a great day!

Trying this out today! Smells good!
