Family Favorite Beefy Cheesy Casserole

Fall has arrived around here and with the change in temperature, I start altering my family dinner menu to incorporate heartier dishes. Whether it be a slow cooker meal or a comforting casserole, there’s just something about the cooler temps that brings a need for more satisfying dishes.

Casseroles are definitely a family favorite, I have a huge variety of go-to recipes that I know will get eaten by both kids and adults. Once in a while though, I feel the need to introduce a new creation into our menu rotation. There’s nothing worse than getting stuck in a dinnertime rut.

Our family’s favorite Beefy Cheesy Casserole is just such a great recipe. While I was shopping at Walmart I noticed McCain® Smiles®, and not only did they bring a smile to my face, they instantly inspired a dinner I knew my family would love.

I found McCain Smiles in the frozen foods department at Walmart. Since they are made with real potatoes and no artificial ingredients, I felt great knowing they’d bring the perfect touch to my recipe.

The basis of my Family Favorite Beefy Cheesy Casserole begins with seasoned ground beef. This gets mixed in with corn, shredded cheese and a creamy sauce made from sour cream and canned soup. The mixture is poured into a casserole pan.

Now here comes the fun part. Open a bag of McCain Smiles and place them on top of the beefy cheesy mixture. Bake in the oven and dinner is done! An easy meal that’s quick enough for weeknights!

I’m so glad I picked up more than one bag of McCain Smiles. My family has requested this dinner be served again as soon as next week! It was a huge hit and brought smiles across the table. Be sure to look for other McCain products at Walmart such as Extra Crispy Crinkle Fries, Seasoned Curly Fries, and Craft Beer Battered Thin Cut Fries.

Next time we’re having a family movie night I plan on serving some McCain Smiles along with a variety of dippers. They make a fantastic snack item and I know they’ll bring a smile to the entire family.

Family Favorite Beefy Cheesy Casserole

Ingredients

• 1 lb ground beef
• 1 T olive oil
• 1/4 t ground pepper
• 1/4 t seasoned salt
• 1 T Worchestershire sauce
• 1/4 cup sour cream
• 1/2 cup milk
• 1 can cream of celery soup
• 1 cup corn
• 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
• 1 22 oz package McCain Smiles

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 375° degrees. Spray 13x9 casserole dish with non-stick cooking spray, set aside.
2. To skillet add olive oil and ground beef and cook thoroughly. Drain off grease. Stir in ground pepper, seasoned salt and Worchestershire Sauce.
3. In bowl mix together: sour cream, milk, cream of celery soup, corn and shredded cheese. Stir in ground beef.
4. Pour into prepared pan.
5. Place layer of McCain Smiles over top. Bake approximately 30 minutes until bubbly.

Notes

Use any variety of cream canned soup.
