Creamy Basil BLT Bagel Bites make such a delicious appetizer or snack. Great for parties, BBQ’s or tailgating, these bite-sized gems are yummy.

I think if I had to pick one type of food to survive on for the rest of my life it would be appetizers. I LOVE having snacky type dinners and I LOVE having snacks out for game day, a good movie, a nice cocktail. Really it’s the kind of food that I adore.

I was looking for something a little bit different to make and I decided to try my hand at a mini-BLT. That felt a little boring? I guess? Because I added a Basil Cream Cheese and Creamy Basil BLT’s were born. I’m not sorry about it either – in fact, I’m going to make these again and again and again!

We love anything with tomatoes in our house…well for that matter we love anything with bacon, or tomatoes or on a bagel – so combining all of these together just seemed like the thing to do! Using the mini-bagels to make Creamy Basil BLT’s made this the perfect snack size. If you’d like to make these more of a dinner/lunch you could use whole bagels.

If you are serving them right away after you make them you could totally toast the bagel. I didn’t toast because I was just setting them out for an appetizer with a cocktail one evening. So it was a pick as you are hungry kind of deal!

Creamy Basil BLT’s

Ingredients

• 1 8oz package cream cheese, softened
• 6-10 basil leaves (matter of taste)
• mini bagels
• 6-8 cooked slices of bacon
• lettuce, chopped (I used Boston - but romain would be nice too)
• Cherry Tomatoes, halved

Instructions

1. In a food processor chop the basil leaves (You could do it by knife too - quicker in processor)
2. Add in cream cheese
3. Pulse until mixed together
4. Spread cream cheese onto bagels
5. Add Lettuce and tomatoes
6. Top with crumbled bacon
