Your family will love Slow Cooker Pepper Steak! Tender pieces of steak, peppers and onions result in one delicious meal from your crockpot.
I love pepper steak, and so does my husband! So instead of ordering it out all the time I needed to find a good, easy recipe to make it at home! I found this one – and changed a few things to make it perfect for us! Hope you enjoy! It was super tasty and couldn’t have been easier!
If you wanted a thicker sauce (there is plenty in the slow cooker) then you could always take some of the liquid to make a gravy. I didn’t find that necessary, the sauce was thin but packed a taste explosion!

Mmmm yummy! I haven’t had pepper steak in years, since my favor Chinese restaurant closed. Pinning! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for stopping over Linda!
If you are getting it ready before work, I recommend cutting the meat the night before. Saves you a lot of time.
Absolutely! I like to use this one as a freezer/crock pot meal – but you could prep it the night before too – and just dump it in the morning!
Just wondering but couldn’t I just cook some of these recipes and freeze them already cooked? Then just defrost/warm them up for when they are needed?
I hate giving advice where I haven’t gone before 😉 But I would think that the Pepper steak could be frozen cooked and then thawed 🙂
Your Crock-pot Pepper Steak look great!!! Thank you for stopping by and linking up your crock-pot recipe at Saturday Dishes.
I pinned it!

I’ve not ever had pepper steak, but it sounds like something we would like. I’m going to have to add it to the menu soon. Thanks for sharing at Saturday Dishes.
Thanks for stopping over Kerry!
Do you need to thaw before putting in crockpot if you freeze it or can it go in frozen? Time adjustment???
I thaw in the fridge overnight only (so mostly frozen) and no no time adjustment
Could I use fresh peppers and oinions instead of the mix? If so what should I do differently?
Ben of course you could – I used frozen to save time and money. Only thing you would need to do different is cut up some peppers – it will be delish! Cooking time will stay the same 😉
What goes into the pepper/onion mix?
The pepper onion mix is a basic green and red peppers with onions 🙂
Hi. What size bag of pepper/onion mix? I can substitute and have cooked long enough to pretty much know how many peppers and onions to use. For novice cooks, a size is so helpful. Thank you!!
yeah – I’d have to look. I believe it’s in the 10-16 ounce range 🙂 a “normal” size bag
How many servings? Also, would I be able to double this recipe in a 6qt crockpot?
Yes! 6 qt is what I used. I think it’s about 3-4 servings! Enjoy!
I’m from australia and I’m not familiar with frozen onion pepper mix. Could you tell me what consists of so that I can out an alternative?
