Glazed Chocolate Chip Apple Cake
Welcome back to #AppleWeek 2018. I can’t believe we’re over halfway through this tasty event. I’ve really enjoyed discovering new apple recipes and I hope you have too.

My third addition to #AppleWeek is a chocolate cake, but not your ordinary chocolate cake. This Glazed Chocolate Chip Apple Cake is a spiced cake with a hint of chocolate, loads of fresh apple baked inside and topped with a chocolate glaze. With fall flavors and chocolate, you know this is gonna be good.
Perfect for fall parties and the holiday season. Glazed Chocolate Chip Apple Cake feeds a crowd and isn’t complicated to prepare. Simply mix the batter and then add in freshly grated apple. Mini semi-sweet chocolate chips are incorporated just prior to pouring into a bundt pan.
After the cake has cooled you add a glaze on top made from more mini semi-sweet chocolate chips which have been melted. It makes a nice finishing touch and adds even more chocolate flavor.
In this dreamy cake, I used Imperial Sugar, who generously provided bloggers participating in #AppleWeek with some sugary goodness. Going into the baking season, you know I’m thrilled to be stocked with Imperial Sugar in my pantry.
Some tips for making this Glazed Chocolate Chip Apple Cake:
- Spray your bundt pan thoroughly with non-stick cooking spray, stuck bundts are NO fun!
- I used baking apples that I grated just prior to adding into the batter.
- When melting the mini semi-sweet chocolate chips, add in 1 tablespoon of coconut oil.
- Need your glaze to set up quickly? Refrigerate glazed cake for a few minutes.
