There are a million reasons to look forward to the upcoming holiday season. Some of mine include spending time with family and loved ones, enjoying the excitement my children have for the season and then there’s the food!
Football season and game day eats lead into Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s all with their own delicious feasts. Undeniably, such a delicious time of the year.
Football season is the perfect time to start prepping your holiday recipe arsenal with all sorts of delicious bite-sized dishes. I usually choose two or three new appetizers to try out prior to the big food holidays.
Preparing recipes to eat during football season serves a two-fold purpose. First, I get to try out appetizers and perfect the recipes, and secondly, anyone watching the big game at our house gets delicious nibbles to eat.
Today I’m sharing with you Bacon Wrapped Stuffing Bites, yes stuffing and double yes BACON! I’m finicky about the bacon I purchase, I like thick-sliced, high-quality bacon such as Wright® Brand Bacon. In fact, we love this bacon so much I buy it almost weekly, it is our favorite. Truly it is Bacon the Wright Way™.
I purchase Wright Brand Bacon at Kroger in the Applewood flavor, its hand selected and hand trimmed. You get bigger, better bacon in every package. Big thick slices are perfect for this recipe, okay all recipes using bacon, but in this recipe especially you want the sturdy bacon to hug tender stuffing.
Now let’s back up and talk about the stuffing for a minute. These appetizers would be perfect for using up leftover stuffing after Thanksgiving!
If you don’t have leftover stuffing, just buy dry stuffing mix from the store, problem solved. I keep boxes in my pantry for all sorts of recipes.
I’m completely thrilled with the way these little bites came out. Wright Brand Bacon is truly the star of these appetizers, so delicious. I simply whipped up a Creamy Cranberry Dip to dunk these bites of goodness into, simply a mixture of cranberry sauce and whipped cream cheese blended together.
There are other delicious varieties of Wright Brand Bacon available which I’ll be trying out before the holiday season. Flavors including Hickory Smoked, Smoked Brown Sugar, Bourbon Barrel Smoked & Oak Barrel Smoked. Don’t they sound amazing? Do you have a favorite recipe using bacon as the main ingredient?
Now I’m off to find more delicious appetizer recipes to make before the big game on Sunday! I can hardly wait!
More appetizers? No problem:
