An easy dinner to put together and put into your slow cooker. Sweet and Spicy Slow Cooker Drumsticks is a great meal in a flash!
My husband and I love wings and anything buffalo. My kids do not! They will eat them with us if we get a sweeter – less spicy version so out of that came Sweet and Spicy Slow Cooker Drumsticks. We were trying to duplicate a wing sauce that comes from our favorite wing place in town that combines the sweet and spicy – I came pretty close!
So why didn’t I use wings? Well – you could! But, since I was using the slow cooker I figured that drumsticks would be a better choice – and they were delicious. You could definitely use any kind of chicken for this, but I liked using drumsticks since it’s a bit different (for us anyways). Sweet and Spicy Slow Cooker Drumsticks were a definite hit in our house!
A quick note – you can make these as hot and spicy as you want – or you can even make them more sweet. Just adjust the ratio of buffalo sauce to duck sauce (more buffalo is hot and more duck is sweet). I love simple dishes that are pure dump in the crock pot and walk away kind of dishes. That’s an easy meal and I need a bunch of those in my bag of tricks! Throw some veggies in the microwave (those steam bags are amazing) and I’m perfect! LOVE IT. What every busy family needs!

Sorry, what’s “duck sauce” never heard of it.
Duck sauce is an asian sauce so it’s either with all the sauce in your grocery store or in your asian foods section. it’s orangey in color. Enjoy!
Is it the same as Sweet and Sour sauce? I’ve never heard of duck sauce….
Here’s an example of Duck Sauce, at Chinese restaurants it sometimes comes in packets like Soy Sauce.

You could…if you can’t find it substitute an orange jelly of some sort. It will be different for sure but I bet it would still be great tasting.
Does the chicken dry out in the crock pot? Iv always had issued with chicken in the crock pot because it always get way to dry and i end up disliking it. But im wondering if this would be different because of the bone in?
