We’ve arrived at the final day of such a chocolate lovers’ dream come true #Choctoberfest 2019! Originally I had planned on preparing 3 brand new chocolate recipes for the event, but alas…life was busy this month and I wound up having to scrap one recipe. No worries, I will eventually post it because it is chocolate and delicious.

Today I’m bringing a seasonally perfect warm beverage! Temperatures are steadily dropping here in Michigan and I’m already finding comfort in warm beverages. Introducing the delicious Double Chocolate Peppermint Hot Cocoa.

This tasty beverage couldn’t be more simple to make and came about as I found a package of mini chocolate and peppermint candies in my baking supplies. I instantly knew what I wanted to whip up and let me tell you on a day when our yard was frosty it was the perfect warm drink.

What ingredients do you need to make a Double Chocolate Peppermint Hot Cocoa?

Prepared Hot Cocoa
Peppermint Extract
Chocolate Syrup
Mini Chocolate and Peppermint Candies for garnish

Some tips for making Double Chocolate Peppermint Hot Cocoa:

Use any hot cocoa recipe or prepackaged hot cocoa.
Drizzle chocolate sauce on the inside of the glass.
Pour prepared hot cocoa into glass after drizzling chocolate.
Use a skewer to decorate with mini chocolate and peppermint candies.
If you’d like a boozy version, substitute peppermint extract for Creme de Menthe.
Add whipped cream to top if desired.
