My next addition to #SummerGrilling week is Southwest Pasta Salad. This is a fantastic side dish that you’ll want to make over and over again. Who Needs A Cape? is no stranger to pasta salads, we love them and so do our followers. So I’m excited to introduce a new one to you today!
I love pasta salads during the hot summer months! I can get started making them early in the day, and have them cooling in the refrigerator, ready to eat after the entrees come off the grill. BBQ season and pasta salad are BFF’s around here.
This pasta salad is so simple to prepare and is very customizable. Swap out ingredients with ones that your family enjoys, change the shape of the pasta you choose, add in more spice, go for it.
I used seashell pasta in this particular dish. Next, I added in black beans, shredded cheddar cheese, sliced green onions, and cut grape tomatoes. A tangy sauce made from mayonnaise, BBQ sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and Dijon mustard is whipped up.
Now to add a little extra crunch and flavor, I topped this Southwest Pasta Salad with Jalapeño Cornbread Crisps from Farmer’s Pantry. If you haven’t tried Cornbread Crisps from Farmer’s Pantry…YOU MUST! If you love cornbread, then these are right up your alley.

Some tips for making Southwest Pasta Salad:
- This recipe serves 4 as a side dish, double if you require more.
- Like more spice, add in diced jalapeños.
- Grilled corn is a great addition.
- Refrigerator for at least 30 minutes after preparing. Stir prior to serving.

Southwest Pasta Salad is the perfect side dish for BBQ's and grilling. With loads of great flavors in one dish, it's fantastic with burgers and hot dogs. Cook and drain pasta according to package directions. Allow to completely cool. In a mixing bowl along with cooled pasta add: grape tomatoes, green onions, black beans and cheddar cheese. In small bowl whisk together: mayonnaise, BBQ sauce, Dijon mustard and Worcestershire sauce. Add sauce to other ingredients, mix together. Spoon into serving bowl. Refrigerate at least 30 minutes. Stir prior to serving and top with pieces of Farmer's Pantry Jalapeño Cornbread Crisps.Southwest Pasta Salad
