Need a few fun ideas for Pittsburgh with the kids? We have them – here’s how we spent our Kids Day in Pittsburgh!

Special Thanks to the Pittsburgh Zoo!

I LOVE going places with my kiddos – but it has to be the right places! I think all the parents (and hello grandparents) can agree with this – whatever activity we choose to do has to fit my kids and we have to be able to have fun. No boring allowed!

So when my entire family decided to meet in Pittsburgh (lucky us Pittsburgh is half way between us!) I had a big order – the kiddos ranged from 2 thru 16 (can I count them as kids?). That’s a big order of how to keep everyone entertained right? I was a little stressed – Pittsburgh has so many amazing and fun things to do, but could I find somethings that EVERYONE would like (hey the grown ups didn’t want to be bored either). I found 2 really fun things that all of us from 2 thru 67 could have fun doing! We went to the Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium and took a ride on the Duquesne Incline. Both amused all of us!

Going up the Incline is AWESOME. You have this amazing view of the city, and if you haven’t been – Pittsburgh is really lovely. It has a great city feel without being so ginormous and overwhelming! I can’t say enough good things about Pittsburgh honestly.

He LOVED going up the Incline - can you tell???

We started our day going up the Incline and checking out the view. After that? We drove over to the Pittsburgh Zoo. Have you ever been? We all loved it so much!

I love polar bears and these two were swimming and splashing all over the place. It was so fun to watch!

Having people of all age groups can make a visit to anywhere tricky. Our Kids Day in Pittsburgh worked out really nicely by going to the Zoo. The Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium is big enough to have a Lion, Tiger, a whole Monkey house (they were awesome) PLUS a huge aquarium. BUT I will say it was small enough that it was walkable by everyone (the 2 year old was out of her stroller and having fun!)

If you’re heading to the zoo make sure to check out their Penguin Parade schedule! We missed it because of a holiday, but you guys – how much fun would it be to watch a Penguin Parade??? I guess I’m going to have to go back now! (I’m not sad about this at all!)

Whatever you do when you’re in Pittsburgh – if you have kids the trip to the zoo is an absolute must. A Kids Day in Pittsburgh wouldn’t be complete without it (no matter how old the kids are!).

Wait – want to take a trip with just the ladies? I recommend Pittsburgh for that too – check it out!
