You are in for the absolute biggest treat. This Spicy Sausage Slow Cooker Dip? I’m not joking. It might be one of my most favorite dips I’ve ever made (and you guys know I love dip and I make a ton of them). Thanks to El Yucateco – this dip had not just amazing flavor, but amazingly flavored heat. I don’t want to eat something JUST because it’s spicy – but rather because it has such a nice flavor that I can’t stop myself. El Yucateco Green Habanero Hot Sauce fits the bill in every way.  Keep reading I’ll tell you how to make the dip!

Spicy Sausage Dip 4

Have you tried El Yucateco? They have 4 flavors – I used (like I said) the Green Habanero (it’s the #1 seller I personally LOVE IT), there is also a Red Habanero (the all purpose hot sauce – put it in ANYTHING and it will be amazing), a Black Label Reserve (this one is rich and smokey and made from fire roasted Habaneros) and a XXX Habanero (if you didn’t guess?  this is uber hot! 12,000 on the Scoville scale).  So yum.  I love flavor to my kick and not things that are just “hot” to be hot without delicious flavor. El Yucateco is the kind of brand I love! They have fun. You have to check out their merchandise store (CLICK HERE) – it’s fun!  Food should be fun, T-shirts should be fun! LOVE!

So back to my Dip (I didn’t forget!). We love football playoffs (ok all football). Part of the fun for us? Is having snacks. They can’t just be any snacks they have to be fun tailgating type snacks – know what I mean? I was looking for something new to try out when I remembered yummy El Yucateco sauces. What could I do with it? I decided a dip, somehow in my head that sprouted into a Spicy Sausage (slow cooker) Dip. I do have good ideas right?

Use your Slow Cooker and make an AMAZING Spicy Sausage Dip - it's so delicious you'll want it for every football game! (or happy hour!)

I went to Walmart because I knew that I would fine El Yucateco in their Mexican Food Section (or international foods). I found it, I bought it, I went home and cooked!

Spicy Sausage Dip

Ok so to get started you’re going to need some ingredients

  • 1 lb breakfast sausage
  • 2 onions caramelized
  • 12 ounces velveeta
  • 8 ounces cream cheese
  • 3 Tbsp (or more) of El Yucateco Green Habanero Sauce (I also drizzled some directly on my dip because yum) If you want it hotter – add another Tbsp

Take 1 of your Tbsp of Habanero Sauce and drizzle it on the sausage before you brown it. Then brown it.

Spicy Sausage Dip 2

Before you brown your sausage and caramelize the onions, go ahead and get your cheese started in your slow cooker (I used a small 2 quart). Put in the velveeta, cream cheese and 2 Tbsp of the Green Habanero Sauce. Turn it on high. THEN do your stove top cooking. It will give your cheese a chance to start melting!

Spicy Sausage Dip 3

When they are ready, mix in the sausage and the onions. Cook on high for another 1-2 hours (mix occasionally).

When everything is melted together you are ready to serve, turn your slow cooker to warm and set it on the table (and duh turn on the game!!!!!)!

Spicy Sausage Dip 5

Ok so after you make this AMAZING DIP (I’M NOT JOKING YOU GUYS) what else are you going to use your El Yucateco Sauce in? Bloody Mary’s anyone? AND what are you buying from their FUN Merchandise Store? Leave it in the comments – you KNOW I love it! (and tell me who you’re rooting for – my team is already out!)

Spicy Sausage Dip is a fantastic SLOW COOKER Dip! Wow your family and friends with this extremely good dip! A MUST PIN!

We love spicy, cheesy dips. While we don’t watch a lot of football (sacrilege, I know), I think this would be great for movie nights. We love chips and dip on movie nights.

This is such a creative recipe, the addition of the sausage I bet makes it hearty and delicious. Thanks for participating in this shop #client
