These chocolate chip cake bars are an easy dessert to make. Total time including baking is 30 minutes, dessert in a jiffy, gotta love that!
Every once in a while you need a quick, easy, but still tastes like you spent all day in the kitchen kind of dessert. This is one of those. It’s super easy, it took me an hour including baking and doing the dishes and it tasted really great!
So if you’re in a pinch and need a quick and easy idea – try these bars (and I love bars cause they are so easy to pack up and bring somewhere – and my kids don’t make a mess with them!)
One note – when making these chocolate chip cake bars – the batter will be REALLY thick. It’s the way it is. It is hard to spread and wanted you to know mine was too 😉

I love the bar idea! Awesome for adding toppings to, mid-week, for sundaes as well!

I sent this recipe to my husband yesterday and he made it last night. OH MY! These were so good! I say were because I had to make him send them to his work or I would eat them all! Thank you for the great recipe!

Oh I’m so glad you liked them (yes we had the same problem – I took some to work to avoid sitting down and eating the pan 🙂 )
And thanks for leaving the feedback!

Sometimes when I make a batch of chocolate chip cookies, I just spread it all in a 9×13 pan and bake it as bars. Will have to give this a try, but think that I will use a chocolate cake mix, as I’m addicted to chocolate.
