Wow all of your guests this year and make a batch of Homemade Boozy Whipped Eggnog – it’s amazingly easy but extremely tasty!
Tis the Season to make Eggnog…Boozy or not! This recipe is awesome with some bourbon, but rest assured I make Homemade Boozy Whipped Eggnog plenty of times WITHOUT the booze for my kids and it is STILL delish. You’re going to love this recipe. People will be so amazed with you! Come to find out? It’s so easy to make – but everyone will be proud!!!
I do want to go on record as saying, whipped eggnog is NOT the same as what you buy in the store. We think it’s WAY better. It’s light and refreshing almost where store bought eggnog is yummy – it’s thick. Whipped eggnog is not that. So even if someone doesn’t love store bought eggnog (I’m looking at my husband here) they might end up loving Homemade Boozy Whipped Eggnog. My husband did. It’s just that magical!
Eggnog is super easy to make, IF you follow some simple tips!
Tips for making Homemade Eggnog:
- After separating the eggs cover the whites and refrigerate until needed, or freeze if aging the eggnog for longer than a day
- Use an electric mixer – I love the whisk option on my stand mixer for this recipe
- Chill your mixing bowls
- Keep everything COLD
- Use very fresh, organic eggs
- This recipe uses raw eggs. I’m ok with it and it’s delish.
What Ingredients do you need to make Homemade Boozy Whipped Eggnog?
- 6 large eggs
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1 cup heavy cream

Happy Holidays Everyone!
Homemade Boozy Whipped Eggnog
Ingredients
- 6 large eggs
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 to 1 1/2 cups bourbon (if you don't like bourbon use Rum or Vodka - if you are serving kids use nothing!)
- Freshly grated nutmeg, for serving
Instructions
- Separate the Eggs. Put the Egg Whites in the fridge covered. Put the Egg Yolks in a chilled Bowl to begin mixing
- Whisk the yolks with the sugar (I use an electric mixer) Whisk until smooth
- Whisk in Milk, Cream and booze if using
- Cover this mixture and refrigerate for an hour at least
- Before serving, whisk the Egg Whites. You really will want to use an electric mixer now - whisk until they egg whites are foamy and stiff!
- Get out the other mixture and fold the egg whites in. BE GENTLE. This is why the eggnog is so fluffy and whipped - the egg whites can't get beat up too much!
- Serve - you can store in the fridge if you need to - it will keep for at least 2 days in the fridge. You may need an additional stir before serving
- Garnish with some fresh nutmeg on top
