Helping our Littlest Humans with one their most basic needs, diapers! Support the Huggies No Baby Unhugged program by donating diapers.
Let me share with you a staggering statistic: One-in-three families (36%) in the U.S. struggle with diaper need, or the lack of enough diapers needed to keep their baby or toddler clean, dry, and healthy. Think about that number for a minute. Over one-third of families struggle with supplying diapers for their babies and toddlers. These are our neighbors, co-workers, and acquaintances.
This past Sunday I attended the Detroit Lions game at Ford Field in Detroit. As a lifelong resident of Southeast Michigan I’m a Lions fan, whether they are up or down during the season, I’m a fan! I was born in Detroit, they are my hometown team.
Prior to kickoff, I was thrilled to be a part of Huggies “Huddle Up” for Detroit’s Biggest Diaper Drive event in Pride Plaza right outside of Ford Field. This was supported by the Huggies No Baby Unhugged initiative.
Fans were encouraged to bring new packages of diapers to the event, benefiting the National Diaper Bank Network. We stopped at Walmart on our way to the event and purchased packages of Huggies diapers for the Diaper Donation Bin.
As soon as you entered the event tent you could feel the positivity flowing. So many people donating diapers for such a fantastic initiative. Did you know three-in-five parents (57%) who experience diaper need also miss work or school due to a lack of enough diapers required by childcare, daycare or early education programs to care for a baby or toddler? As a result, parents experiencing diaper need missed an average of four days of work or school in the past month. We can help with this problem by donating a simple basic need: diapers.
I met Veronica Claybrone who runs the Metropolitan Detroit Diaper Bank. Her enthusiasm for helping our tiniest humans is extraordinary. Parents who experience diaper need, often feel inadequate. In fact, 73% feel they’re not being good parents when their children are left too long in a dirty diaper. Many parents feel the constant stress of having to diaper often. We can all help by donating much-needed diapers.
I’d like to encourage you to help fight diaper need in the following ways:
- Donate diapers through the Huggies No Baby Unhugged Amazon registry to benefit the Metropolitan Detroit Diaper Bank a member of the National Diaper Bank Network.
- Parents can also help fight diaper need by simply donating their Huggies Rewards points to benefit the National Diaper Bank Network.
These are very simple ways that you can make a big difference for our littlest humans. Since 2011, Huggies has served as the sponsor of The National Diaper Bank Network. Huggies No Baby Unhugged has provided ongoing support for the organization and has donated more than 200 million diapers and baby wipes, including critical donations during times of crisis.
Be a part of the team who wins with kindness for our littlest humans no matter what the score! We felt good knowing our diaper donations are going to help local families in need. You can help, too, by donating online at the link below.

What a great cause! I love that I can donate via Amazon! It breaks my heart to think about babies in dirty diapers because the parents can’t afford to buy them.

What an amazing event. My diaper days are long gone now, but I always used Huggies back in the day when my boys were in diapers.

Each year one of the volunteer organizations I volunteer for hosts a community baby shower. It’s a great way to donate diapers, clothing and baby supplies to those in need. Thank you for your donation and spreading the word to help others in need.

I love organizations that do stuff like this! Without people with wonderful hearts there will be a lot of other people that would go without. I don’t live close to there but I will definitely see if they have one close to me.

This is such a great way to give back. Diapers are so expensive it can be hard for family’s to keep up. I will have to look for an event like this in my area.
