Finding a good, healthy breakfast? It’s harder than it sounds right? Sometimes I need something hot to warm me up (especially on the days that it’s 10 degrees outside!). I like to send off my husband with something too. I want us to be healthy, energized (not bogged down) and well enjoy what we are eating! I did a combo…I found out that Lipton is making some new delicious teas, and I wanted to take the health values of tea and mix them into the health values of oatmeal! Out of this was born Tea Infused Oatmeal Breakfast! Keep reading – you’re going to LOVE this!
First let’s talk about how excited I am about Lipton’s New Teas! My family enjoys a nice cup of tea. My mother in law came from Scotland when she was in her 20’s so my husband grew up knowing the fine art of teas! I started truly enjoying them when I met him. Anyways, back on track, we love tea and we love Lipton so it’s really exciting news for us that there are new teas out!
I picked out 3 to try first – Pure Greentea, Lemon Ginger Herbal Tea, and Amazingly Grey Black Tea. I was not disappointed in any of them. All had such a vibrant – but different from each other flavor – it was so much fun to do a tea sampling! Did I pick teas that aren’t your cup of tea? No fears – there are more flavors! You can try:
The Green Tea Flavors (The multi-sensory teas refresh standard tea time, creating an exciting and unique tea-drinking experience…don’t forget the health benefits of Green Tea!)
- Orange Passionfruit Jasmine
- Cranberry Pomegranate
- Lemon Ginseng
- Purple Acai Blueberry
Herbal Tea Flavors (Real ingredients combine with our best herbal tea blends to awaken the senses- you’re going to love these)
- Peach Mango
- Berry Hibiscus
- Apple Cinnamon
Black Tea Flavors (Black is my favorite and these do not disappoint with bold aromas and unique flavors join forces to put a twist on traditional black tea)
- Daring English Breakfast
- Enticing Chai
- Stirring Ceylon
- Irresistible Lady Lipton
Ok, now that you know how AWESOME the new teas are (which one are you trying – let me know what I need to try next!), let’s talk about getting your power breakfast in. I actually made this for both my husband and I. We are busy (who isn’t I know – which is why you need to make this too). Having a hot breakfast can’t take long. We need to get to work. I decided to try infusing oatmeal with yummy Lipton Tea. Think in your head – both have a mellow flavor, both tea and oatmeal are great for you, both provide a hearty way to start your morning…I could go on and on. It’s a great idea (and it even tasted better).
A few notes – I added cut up bananas to this after I cooked the oatmeal. Second make sure to use a big enough bowl so it doesn’t boil over (by the way I learned this the hard way). Third if you need a little sugar – brown sugar was amazing in it (my son ate it and asked for a bit of sugar).
