Need a fabulous appetizer that is small on prep but big on taste? Make these tasty Caprese Salad on a Stick, all the famous flavors without much work.
One of my favorite things is fresh mozzarella. It’s so creamy and yummy I can’t get enough. Pair that with some really fresh tomatoes, a hint of basil and a sprinkle of balsamic vinegar and you have an incredible bite! Make these Caprese Salad on a Sticks in no time at all, very little prep.
But let’s get serious, when you have a caprese salad in front of you you have to work for that perfect bite.
In comes the tooth pick, followed by the grape tomatoes!
This is one of my super easy, but super yummy bites of food for having people over. Food doesn’t have to be complicated to be delicious, in fact most of the time too much complicating can make it mediocre.
Get some:
- Grape Tomatoes
- Fresh Mozzarella (you can buy little balls saving yourself time, but I buy it in the pound logs)
- Fresh Basil (dried will absolutely not work here)
- Balsamic Vinegar
I like to have the tomato and cheese framing the basil. And I do not put a lot of balsamic on, I think the other flavors need to speak up!
If you are storing in the fridge, do NOT add the balsamic until you are ready to serve. Also if you are storing them for a while (like more than 4-6 hours) do not add the basil until the end, as it could wilt next to the cheese. Last thing is to make sure you cover with plastic wrap or put in a storage bag.
Looks perfect for a Christmas Appetizer doesn’t it?
