The guys in my house don’t like “girlie” Easter Baskets. Here’s my solution: a Bold Easter Basket for Guys, complete with things they LOVE.

I’ve learned so much in the years since I became a stepmom to sons. Boys in general run differently than girls. I knew what to buy for girls, that was always easy for me. Boys on the other hand, it took me awhile to get that the central theme for growing boys (who are now young adults) revolves around FOOD. Yes, food! Once that light bulb moment occurred I understood exactly what to purchase for their Christmas stockings and Easter baskets.

Girlie items are a no-go! For girls, I could spend a quick few minutes stocking their Easter baskets with nail polish, hair bands, you know…”girlie” things. All things pink, frilly and girlie and I was done. Guys don’t want any of that! My guys now get items that they will enjoy wholeheartedly…snack food and BOLD snack food at that.

I make my shopping simple and head to Walmart where I can load up on guy-approved items. Items such as Slim Jim Original or Mild (26 pk) which becomes the star of the show in their Easter baskets.

The guys in my house love Slim Jim any time of the year, but are definitely thrilled to see a package or 2 on Easter morning in their baskets. Now of course I put in a few other tasty food items, and items which they will use. The mom in me throws a new toothbrush into every Easter basket, just because. We also put in items which they use all the time such as:  ear buds, gift cards and scent sticks for their cars.
