Feeling Confident with your Finances is possible! Join the onUp Movement and feel the confidence for yourself, nothing feels better.
Think about the word confidence for a moment. One of the definitions I found describes confidence as:Ā a feeling of self-assurance arising from one’s appreciation of one’s own abilities or qualities.Ā As I’ve matured through the years I can most certainly agree that confidence results from knowing one’s own personal worth, abilities, and qualities. More often than not, confidence doesn’t come from someone else acknowledging your worth, but you YES YOU need to acknowledge your personal worth…once you can do that confidence will surely appear.
I can truthfully utter these words and share them with you because I wasn’t always the most confident of women. It has taken me a good chunk of my life to be able to say that I’m confident. And most certainly I haven’t always been able to voice to the world that I’m confident about my finances. I’m self-employed, which means if I don’t hustle and earn an income it won’t magically appear in my bank account. I understand the hard work and effort required in earning an income and take nothing for granted.
If you know me at all, you know that I’m frugal by nature. I have a hard time spending money, I do not enjoy being debt-ridden and I will always search out a good bargain vs. paying full price. I have to tell you this because I’m going to share with you now a moment that made me feel confident about my finances just last month.
We’ve been wanting to take our kids to central Florida and visit the “magic” along with a trip to the ocean. I think you know the resort destination I’m referring to. We put it off for years due to the expense. And then we started planning, plotting and preparing for a trip to this destination. By planning ahead we were able to pay for the entire vacation without going into debt. Much of the vacation was paid for in advance, leaving us with our daily food and incidental expenses which we budgeted accordingly and saved for. Yes, this trip was an uncommonly large expense it was also though a trip that my family will never forget. We had the financial confidence to plan, pay for and enjoy this trip which left us to enjoy, relax and truly get the most out of our vacation.
See that smile above? No, not the two silly little girls, my smile…it is a smile of relaxation and confidence. It truly is!
Just as in so many aspects of our lives planning is critical. Having financial confidence takes time, effort and planning. But is obtainable and will result in the best feeling when you can confidently do what you plan for.
