This is a layered dessert that transports wonderfully, use a pan with a lid for easy transportation. Dig out the cooler and head out to your event.
Let me break this lovely cake down for you, it starts with tender layer of cake, topped with a creamy orange-flavored filling and completed with a fluffy blueberry topping. The light flavor or orange compliments the blueberry taste, you’ll enjoy the combination of flavors along with how simple this summertime dessert is.
Blueberry Orange Cake

Ingredients
- 1 pkg white cake mix
- 1 14oz can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 16oz can ready-made orangesicle frosting (or see ingredients below to make homemade)
- 1 21oz can LUCKY LEAF® Premium Blueberry Pie Filling
- 1 8oz container non-dairy whipped topping
Orange Frosting:
- 1/4 cup butter, softened
- 2 cups confectioners' sugar
- 1 t grated orange peel
- 3/4 t vanilla extract
- 2-3 T orange juice
Instructions
- Bake cake according to package directions for a 9x13 cake. Let cake cool 5 minutes, then using a fork or end of wooden spoon, poke holes all over top of cake. Drizzle the can of sweetened condensed milk over the top of cake slowly. Refrigerate to chill.
- If using store bought frosting, remove foil lid and heat in microwave for 20 seconds. Stir and spread over top of the chilled cake.
- Set aside 2 tablespoons of the pie filling. Stir remaining pie filling together with the whipped topping. Spread over the frosting layer. Spoon tiny dots of the reserved pie filling over the top. Swirl gently with a knife. Refrigerate until time to serve. Cut into 24 pieces. Store the remaining cake in a sealed container in the refrigerator.
- HOMEMADE ORANGE FROSTING: In a small bowl, cream butter until light and fluffy. Beat in the confectioners' sugar, orange peel and vanilla. Add enough orange juice to achieve frosting consistency. Yield: 1 cup.
