Infusing Vodka is SO easy – you’re going to love the taste of Watermelon Vodka and you’re going to LOVE how easy it is to make! Have a Taste of Summer with this today!
Summer should always have a fun cocktail. At least in my house it does. I know that you can buy 10,000 flavors of vodka in the store now, but I’ve always found that infusing my own flavor leads to a better taste – nothing artificial just delicious. I decided to try a Watermelon Vodka because #1 I’m not sure I’ve ever even seen it in a store and #2 watermelon is one of my favorite summer treats.
There are a couple of reasons why watermelon is the best summer treat! It’s refreshing and the smell. I LOVE the smell. So Watermelon Vodka seemed like a no brainer because you could have both the taste and the smell of watermelon in a cocktail form. That’s my kind of summer treat you guys! You know I need a cocktail on Friday nights for Happy Hour!
I decided to put rind in and all because sometimes the flavor and smell comes from the whole fruit – so I thought why not? If you’re not sure you’re going to love Watermelon Vodka (you will I promise) just use a small jar and a small amount of vodka. Just as a note you’re going to want to make sure that the majority of fruit is covered in the vodka. Smoosh it down if you have to. AND, if you do smoosh it down you make want to run your infused vodka through a filter (I’ve used coffee filters before) to get out any pulp. I didn’t have to do this – but if you see pulp – feel free!
