Support Our Military Heroes During the Holiday Season through a variety of ways available through the 2019 USO Wishbook.

Support Our Military Heroes During the Holiday Season

In the most giving of seasons, we should all take a minute to remember those who are providing our country with the ultimate sacrifice. Hundreds of thousands of service members are away from their homes and loved ones on duty. Not everyone gets to go home for the holidays!

This can be done in a variety of ways with lots of options available. The USO is a crucial part of bringing joy and the comforts of home to service members and military families around the world. In fact, the mission of the USO is to strengthen service members by keeping them connected to family, home and country, throughout their service to the nation.

Being a supporter of our military and becoming a Force Behind the Forces® is the hope of the USO. The USO wants to bring a touch of home to our service members for the holidays.

We are very familiar with the military in our family. My husband was deployed with the Army during Operation Desert Shield. Growing up I heard stories of my dad’s military service while he served in the Army stationed in Germany. We even have a WWII veteran in the family, my father in law who served on a naval ship in the Pacific theatre. Fast forward to 2019 and our thoughts are with my nephew, a Marine who is stationed in Kuwait.

During the holiday season service members stationed away from home miss precious moments and favorite traditions. The USO helps bridge the distance — to family, home and country.

Give toward a gift for good through the USO Wishbook at USO.org/Holidays. What is the USO Wishbook? The USO Wishbook is an online alternative giving catalog offering donors a way to support the USO by purchasing symbolic gifts for friends and loved ones that help America’s service members and their families.

Of course, participating in Giving Tuesday is a great way to give back to the men and women who give up so much.

Want to help even more? Host a USO Facebook Fundraiser to rally other military supporters to help support our men and women in uniform, and their families, during a time they need us most. To learn more about starting a Facebook Fundraiser for the USO visit, USO.org/facebookfundraiser.

Our beloved service members need your help to bridge the distance to family, home and country. The USO aids in making this happen and so can you!
