Potty Training Time!!!!

Simple Potty Training, yes it is possible! Find out a few simple tricks that helped when potty training at our house.

Potty Training really can be simple, no I swear! With a few simple tools you can have your little one out of diapers in no time! You won’t be changing diapers forever – they aren’t going to college in them.  Although honestly, I had this thought at one point.

You’re not alone if you’re dreading the day. Well, that was part of my problem, I was dreading. Best tips I ever got was 1) Wait for the child to be ready (there is no rushing this in my opinion), and 2) Relax and just go with it! Hahaha!

Another great tip: Have all the tools you’re going to need ready and waiting. Start with a nice toilet paper – seem silly? Well it’s not. You don’t want a rough non-working toilet paper – your kid will dread the wipe (and we don’t want to dread the wipe at all right?). I needed Charmin® Ultra Soft . I use it anyways, but during potty training having the right paper is exactly what you need.

I also needed to have some Lysol wipes and Bounty Paper Towels.  Part of being relaxed during potty training is absolutely realizing that there will be accidents.  That’s OKAY!  You want an accident or two and then hopefully with the wet pants your child realizes that “whoops” moment.  I needed absorbent paper towels such as Bounty and some disinfectant wipes, meet your friend Lysol!  Remember it’s called potty training – it’s not going to happen the first moment you put on the big kid undies!

I headed to Sam’s Club.  I could pick up everything I needed for our potty training adventure.  Yes adventure – you never know what the day is going to bring. Be sure to look for the extra 1000+ sheets per roll Charmin packages for a limited time at Sam’s Club…BONUS!

Now that I’m all stocked up – here’s what I do.  I start talking about big kids and big kid activities. Of course I mention big kids go on the potty.  I also mention that we have treats for going on the potty, this is a BIG DEAL HERE!  We did a combo of a snack treat, oh alright it was candy and a sticker sheet for a bigger prize.  I tried REALLY HARD not to get upset about accidents.  I don’t want to stress a 3 year old out! Now, some of you might be quicker than me and no one wants to stress a 2 year old out.

Having Charmin® Ultra Soft really helped. There was no dreading the wipe – in fact the opposite. I had a proud kiddo that would give the blessed shout of “ALL DONE” to me instead of hiding, or worse!

You know how everyone has the saying “Keep Calm and…”? Well, “Keep Calm and Potty Train”! It’s the best mom and dad advice that I can give.

The best prize is having a kiddo that loves being a big kid and going on the potty. A cool calm potty training approach totally helps in that. Be prepared, be stocked up in your potty training supplies including Charmin® Ultra Soft Toilet Paper, Bounty Paper Towels, Lysol Wipes, Sticker Books and of course the delicious chocolate treat.
