Butterfly Cupcakes
We’ve made it through another harsh winter season in Michigan. The calendar says spring has arrived, unfortunately, spring hasn’t gotten the memo.
We’re still dealing with cold weather, minimal sunshine, lack of spring flowers and even snow! Yes, the snow had the nerve to appear hereafter winter was supposedly done and gone.
My kids were home for spring break last week and had to make the best of it. One afternoon I decided to “mix up a moment” and personally bring spring into our house by making some fun Butterfly Cupcakes with my kids!
You’ll love how easy these Butterfly Cupcakes are to prepare, not to mention how tasty they are too! Luckily I had stocked up on Pillsbury cake mixes and frosting at Walmart.
Walmart is the perfect place to purchase a variety of Pillsbury cake mixes and frostings, they have a huge selection at great prices. There’s even a money-saving offer on Ibotta for Pillsbury products too, be sure to check it out!
If spring wasn’t going to visit us, we were going to bring some spring into our lives! These Butterfly Cupcakes were just the perfect way to pass an afternoon with my kids and share a delicious treat.
Simply prepare the Pillsbury cake mix according to package directions. Bake and cool the cupcakes. Next spread on your favorite Pillsbury frosting, we choose a fun pop of purple.
The butterfly wings are made from white chocolate covered pretzels, I found them in the candy aisle. Now for the butterfly body, we used some round candy balls that were located right in the cake mix/frosting aisle. Cute, right?
We made some butterflies with antenna and some without. My 4 yr old wasn’t too keen on the black decorating gel messing up her pretty purple butterfly.
You can easily customize these Butterfly Cupcakes using any variety of Pillsbury cake mix and frosting. Perfect for birthday parties, or even baby showers.
We had fun making these together and taking a blah day to a very yummy day! Hopefully, we’ve inspired you to “mix up a moment” in your house!
