I LOVE any kind of Party Mix it’s perfect for watching games on tv (and we LOVE a big game at our house)! It’s a favorite at for us! So I decided it was time to use some of the new Cheez-it products (a HUGE favorite Here!) to make a new, yummy game day snack. I went over to Walmart to pick up the ingredients – they have a HUGE Cheez-it display on the end of the snack aisle – you can’t miss it! If you haven’t already tried the new Cheez-It Crunch’d you’re missing out – be sure to pick up extra bags (you’ll read more about this below!).
Before we get bogged down with actual cooking…Don’t forget to go to http://cbi.as/3ckv You can enter the Most Valuable Cheese contest for a chance to win $10,000 (that’s worth a click I think!).
I planned this whole snack around working with my boys. One of the reasons that I really like making snack mix is because it was SO much fun to have my 3 sons cooking with me! They LOVED it too. They make cooking much more entertaining.
So let’s get to this shall we? The recipe is actually quite easy – and if you’d like a recipe to print out – it’s at the bottom!
First things first – preheat your oven to 325 degrees and grab your ingredients. You’ll need:
4 C corn chex
4 C rice chex
2 C cheerios
2 C pretzel sticks
1/4 C melted butter
1/4 C worcestershire sauce
1 package dry ranch mix
3 C Cheddar Ranch Flavored Cheez-it Grooves
*If you Like Spicy* 2 cups of Cheez-It Crunch’d Hot and Spicy – it’s pictured below! (I was going to add Crunch’d Cheddar to get the amazing Crunch’d flavor in there – but my boys gobbled them up BEFORE I could add them! But they would be delicious in there – give them a try!)
got all that? ok while you’re at it grab a big roasting pan or 2 9×13 (I went the 9×13 route because 2 of my boys would have their own – the 3rd didn’t care too much)
Pour all cereals and pretzel sticks into pan(s) and mix together
Mix together melted butter, ranch and worcerstershire sauce. Then drizzle onto mix. (try and get it evenly spread on there)
Once you’ve used all the drizzle up, mix everything together to try and coat all the dry. You can use a spoon, or if you have sons your hands work too
After everything is nice and coated, cover with tinfoil and bake for 1 hour. You need to mix it every 15 minutes. Take it out and let it cool.
When the mix is cooled enough add in 3 cups of the Cheddar Ranch Cheez-It Grooves. If you like it Spicy (I do – kids don’t) add in 2 cups of Cheez-It Crunch’d Hot and Spicy (my mix in the tutorial is kid friendly so no hotsy totsy in there – I just added them when I ate it’s pictured above!).
And then sit back, relax, turn the game on and enjoy! Don’t forget to check out the Snackable Moments Site http://cbi.as/3cxh for more snack inspiration!
