It’s that time of year for the #UnbelievableMoments to be a part of every big game on tv. We LOVE this time of year for the Basketball Events that are happening almost daily. We get really fired up when our Favorite Team has #UnbelievableMoments during game after game.
We – doesn’t everyone? – like to have a nice variety of snacks and drinks during these great games. Our kids divide themselves between my husband’s favorite college team and mine 🙂 but they do NOT divide themselves on the snacks they want served. On the list of Favorites? Or course is OREO Cookies, REESE’S and topped off with Coke Zero to drink! I decided to make the Coke Zero into a slush because it’s my son’s FAVORITE! (yes all capped – it’s how they say it!).
I went to Target to gather all of my fun treats and drinks. They had everything I needed to make a fun party for our family. And, on top of everything else there is Target’s Cartwheel Savings App which makes Target easy on my pocket too! They even had a REESE’S Coupon (Score for mom). Add it to Your Cartwheel before you go shopping (The coupon is good until 4/4!).
Have you tried Coke Zero? It’s honestly one of my favorite Sodas. And this year Coke Zero and Target are bringing you You Don’t Know Zero ‘Til You’ve Tried It. Coke Zero and Target will allow consumers to try a Coke Zero through “Drinkable” advertising which takes traditional advertising elements and makes them actually drinkable – leading to a free 20oz. Coke Zero at Target! Consumers can participate in these unbelievable experiences through a drinkable TV spot, jumbotron and even at CokeZero.com beginning April 2nd. Just come thirsty with your Shazam app ready! Be sure to check that out! (hey I love a deal and a fun new think 😉 )
Make sure to go check out the Snack Bracket and enter for your chance to win tickets to a BasketBall Tournament!!!!!
(yes below is my son trying to steal snacks before it was time for the game as if I wouldn’t notice him sneaking. I am telling you our buffet of snacks was too irresistible for him!)
So onto my Basketball event buffet. I have 3 sons and a husband – sports are just a big part of our lives. I don’t necessarily decorate, because when you have awesome snacks like REESE’S mini’s (hello they are unwrapped already for easy eating) and OREO Cookies – decorations don’t seem necessary…another thing about 3 sons is that decorations aren’t necessary for them to have fun! I just made sure to set out the snacks and then got busy making my delicious Coke Zero Cherry Slush. It had a lot of flavor and the layering was fun and a treat! Hope you like it as much as we did!
- The Coke Zero Layer
- 1 1/2 liter of Coke Zero bottle
- 3-4 C ice
- The Cherry Layer
- 1 C Grenadine or Cherry Juice
- 1-2 C ice
- Blend the ingredients of the Coke Zero Layer until the ice is to your liking (more ice will mean more slushy. I used 4 C)
- Set the Coke Zero slush aside and rinse out blender
- Blend together the Cherry Layer ingredients (again the ice amount is to your preference I used 2 C)
- Get out 4-5 glasses
- Using a Spoon, Place a layer of Coke Zero Slush
- Using and Spoon, Place a layer of Cherry Slush
- Continue layering until you run out of slushes or you have filled your glasses
- Grab a REESE'S Mini, an Oreo and a straw and enjoy!
So now you’ve heard how we use Target, OREO Cookies, REESE’S Minis, and of course Coke Zero to make our fun buffet while watching my favorite team – what’s your family’s story? What do you guys do? Share in the comments – I’m always looking for fun and new ideas!
