This week we are showcasing Christine! I hope you enjoy browsing her website as much as I do! I LOVE IT (PS – she has a picture of her and Gordon Ramsey…that’s enough for me to keep going back for more)! thanks Christine for doing this with us!!! ~ Heather
When did you start blogging? I started posting recipes on my blog close to 2 years ago, but only really treated it as a blog for the past 10 months or so. Before that it was just a way for me to keep my recipes organized. I had never been one to write down a recipe, and friends would always ask “how do you make that” and I could never answer. The blog was a good way to force me to “write” my recipes out for them.Looking back now, I can’t believed I published those recipes w/ THOSE pictures. They’re horrible. I really need to go back and reshoot ALL of them.
What’s your favorite thing you have published? I think my favorite recipe I have published is Pesto Mozzarella Stuffed Pork Chop, for a few reasons. The first being, I don’t LOVE pork, so the fact that I couldn’t get enough of this pork chop, speaks volumes of it’s flavor. Secondly, it’s so easy to prepare, yet it looks pretty. I love a recipe that looks much more complicated than it actually is. It’s a perfect recipe for a weeknight meal. http://foodyschmoodyblog.com/pesto-mozzarella-stuffed-pork-chops/
Bloggers you love: Oh man, there are too many to mention. I’ve created a great friendship with One TIPsy Chick and we bounce blog ideas off each other and she’s got so many wonderful tips to share. Also, Shauna from The Best Blog Recipes. It was when she invited me to her Facebook group that I really decided to push forward with my blog as an actual blog. I could go on and on, so I better stop here, but just know there are tons of bloggers that I am in total awe of!
Biggest flop? Biggest success? My biggest recipe flop was an attempt at allergy free brownies. They didn’t make it to the blog, but of course, I shared it on FB – check out the picture for a good laugh and to make yourself feel better about any baking flops you have https://www.facebook.com/foodyschmoodyblog/photos/pb.466465743435599.-2207520000.1396977932./564112553670917/?type=3&theater
My biggest success, was a recipe for Italian Drop Cookies. http://foodyschmoodyblog.com/anginetti-italian-lemon-drop-cookies/ Not so much because the post was amazing, or unique or anything like that, because it wasn’t, but because I have a very hard time sharing recipes that are special to me in a personal way. Since I grew up, associating these cookies with holidays as a small child, it was tough for me to put to the blog. I’m afraid of negativity on things that are close to my heart. My biggest NON Blog, but food related success was, of course, preparing a meal for the great Gordon Ramsay and seeing people eat it and actually enjoy it on tv!!! Again, the story has yet to make it to the blog because it’s close to my heart, but I’m working on it (2 years later) One of these days I’ll be brave enough to put it out there.
Christine – thanks again – looks delish! AND YES I am waiting for your Gordon Ramsey story – so please post it 😉 Had to show one more thing that Christine recently made because – dessert…check out here Apple Pie Stuffed Cheesecake!
