This week we are bringing you Janelle from http://bakesinslippers.com/ . Make sure to go say “hi” from Who Needs a Cape!!! Thanks Janelle for doing this with us 😉 ~ Heather
When did you start blogging?
A few years ago, but just got serious with Bakesinslippers within the past year. It started out to chronicle my way through culinary school, but I realized my love of baking, cooking, writing, and taking food photos, so I combined all those and now when not working or being a mom to a soon to be college kid, I am blogging. So nights and weekends are definitely all about food!
Favorite thing I have published?
For the blog it would be my cherry jam. I love how I was able to capture the jam, and the way it turned out so simple, yet delicious. It was picked up by a Seattle website for a story on cherries, which was awesome! http://bakesinslippers.com/
Bloggers you love:
Uh Who needs a cape of course! I am a huge Joy the Baker fan, The Lemon Bowl makes me hungry all the time. The Lazy Mom’s Cooking Blog is a friend and inspiration. Savory Simple and Two Red Bowls I am constantly in awe of. There is not enough room to list all the great food bloggers out there. I love the community, the support, and friends I have made on this crazy culinary journey.
Biggest flop-the food was fine, but the pictures ugh. My eggplant cheese dish. It tasted fine, but darn if it looked like slop!
Biggest success-My Asian sesame chicken. It’s so darn easy, but it’s the most requested dish on my blog by far, and by my daughter. http://bakesinslippers.com/
