This week we’re bringing you the 2 ladies behind Kitchen Dreaming. I love love love the fact that they are a team (because I love my team here at Who Needs a Cape?) and it’s interesting to have 2 totally different personalities on a blog! Thanks Ronda and Dina for participating! ~ Heather
Our culinary journey we are was born from decades of saving recipes from
magazines, internet sites, cookbooks, as well as, those passed down from
our family through the generations. I opened kitchendreaming.com in August 2012
and Dina joined me full-time blogging in January 2013. So we are still relatively
new to the food blogging arena and learning new things everyday.
Though it seems we have always had a knack for finding and sharing recipes even in
our everyday lives. We are those women in your office who always have a new
baked good or some other treat to share. We find we are the ones people
immediately know one, it will become our personal quest to find one
that’s perfect for you. It’s just who we are.
Dina and I have very different cooking styles and because of that we really
compliment one another. Together we have a vast recipe bank filled many fun
and unique recipes to share. Some are recipes we’ve created on our own,
some recipes we follow and other times we’ve just found inspiration for our
meal from a recipe we’ve read.
We often “tweak” recipes to suit our preferences and feel that any recipe
is just a starting point. We’ve never been afraid to adapt the ingredients
and flavors to fit our families tastes. We have also been pretty successful
at just creating recipes “on the fly,” as Dina calls it. These qualities
have given us courage to share our recipes on our blog.
Some of our biggest successes have been the most random of recipes, ones
you would never think would be so widely accepted and shared, like White Chocolate
Oatmeal cookies or Blueberry French Toast Casserole made with leftover hot dog buns
while others we think will absolutely be successful on the blog, turn out to be flops.
It’s really hard sometimes to predict the tastes and trends going on at any given time
on social media.
We’ve met a group of incredible bloggers from around the web and around the world.
We were lucky enough to forge positive relationships with many pages but it was
Mary Beth from MB Things I Know blog who really helped us and encouraged us to keep
going when we were a new fledgling blog and so we really have a lot of gratitude and
respect for Mary Beth.
We share a new recipe daily, monday through Friday, and have started a weekly re-cap
newsletter which people can sign up for on our website. We’re looking forward to the new year
and to the many new and exciting things we’ve got planned for 2014. We want to thank all our friends,
fans, and incredible bloggers we’ve met along the way who not only encourage us but inspire
us everyday to keep on doing what we love.
