Find out how Freezer Meals are the Easy Dinner Solution for Working Moms. Enjoy a slow cooked meal on the table after a long day, you deserve that!
As a mom who works full-time, there’s a constant juggling act that occurs every.single.day. There never seems to be enough hours in the day, does there? In between work responsibilities, family commitments, functions at your kids schools, cooking, cleaning, laundry, yard work…the list goes on and on. This is no news flash for working moms, it is just part of life. We are all busy, busy, busy balancing work and home life. Times have changed the past decades and upwards of 70% of moms are now in the workforce.
Working Moms Mean Business
Recently I enjoyed an e-book titled Mom Guilt, have you heard of it? Allow me to fill you in a bit. Along with all of the obligations that come with motherhood and working, usually something else comes hand in hand…working mom guilt and boy oh boy, it is no fun.
Within Mom Guilt (PS-it is nice to do something for yourself, ebooks are highly recommended by this mom) there’s stories of working moms in all levels of their careers who are living the “pull” all working moms face. The tug of war between career and family life. Often we only hear the negative about this all too common scenario. You know what I’m referring to: the harried mom who feels she isn’t getting it all done, she’s tired, she’s doubting herself, she’s ready to throw in the towel. The stories of working moms in Mom Guilt are inspiring. These working moms have successfully battled the challenges of conquering their own personal mom guilt. Conquering this guilt is something that is an ongoing battle for myself, but I know I’m definitely not alone.
What I have also recently enjoyed are the BBVA Compass Moms Mean Business Podcasts. Don’t you love podcasts? There’s a variety of great information available to listen to at your leisure. I’ve taken away a lot of great tips from the Mompreneurs episode and have actually shared information from the Women in Technology episode with my daughter who studying for a STEM career in college. Sharing good information is always a great idea! You really must give the podcasts a listen, so much information.
Now down to the nitty-gritty of what helps keeps me and loads of fellow working moms organized…FREEZER MEALS! Yes, you’ve probably seen a post or two through the years on Who Needs A Cape? about freezer meals, we love them. As busy working moms ourselves they are truly a sanity-saver and we cannot recommend them enough. You simply: shop, prep, bag, freeze & slow cook your way to easy mealtimes!
Trust me, spending a few hours or as little as ONE HOUR on the weekend prepping bags for the freezer will give you so much joy. Joy when you have dinner on the table without chaos or delay. Simply take one of your frozen bags out of the freezer and place into your refrigerator at night. For some strange reason, I’ve never done the freezer meals. It would be so convenient to make 20 meals in 2 hours! Wow! I really need to do this.

I made a month of freezer meals one time! It was a lot of work, but it was worth it at the time. Now, I never know what I’m going to be in the mood to eat, so I can’t plan ahead lol. I do try to try, but then I end up not wanting what I bought…it’s a struggle!

I am a big believer in cooking once and eating several times. We do tons of freezer meals or just items to be taken out quickly and thrown together for a fast and delicious homemade meal.

This really is the best solution. My husband and I work three or four jobs between the two of us, and that doesn’t include our many hobbies. It’s always a struggle to save money and get good food on the table!
Amber Myers
I need to try this out! I really hate cooking, so maybe if I planned ahead with these I wouldn’t be so cranky when it came time to make something.

Freezer meals are such a great idea when you are a busy person, and making them up yourself ready means they are so much healthier.

I make freezer meals when I have the time. I usually do it on weekends but it is also time consuming to cut, chop, season and mix. Well at least it gives me a little more extra time during the weekdays so I guess it is all good.

I keep saying I’m going to do this and I need to just do it. It would be amazing to have supper cooked and all I’d have to do is unthaw and heat up.

Most of my friends that are moms are working moms. They’re always looking for their next solution – especially when it comes to preparing meals for their families. I’ll definitely have to show them these round-ups because new ideas are always welcome! They’re always trying new routines out.

Earlier today, I was thinking about how my family should make ahead and pre-package. No one ever feels like cooking when it’s time, so dedicating a specific day and planning for the majority of the week….we’d sure eat better.

I want to cook better and freezer meals would help a lot. Sometimes I am way too busy to plan my meals out for the whole week.

I love making freezer meals when I have time because you can just pull it out from the freezer when you don’t have time to cook.

Jaime Nicole
I would love to try doing this sometime, although I have a small freezer. I am a single working mom so this would definitely help me out!

Freezer meals are my lifesaver! They keep us from eating out and help us all eat together. I don’t know what I would do without them!

This is going to me how I will spend my Saturday. I will check on the link for 7 meals in 1 hour. That would be a start. If I like it then I go the next level up next week.
