 That most favored time of the year has finally arrived!!! College football games are abundant and so are the rivalries! Around here we have one of the biggest and heated rivalries in college football: Michigan vs. Ohio State! Southeast Michigan bleeds Maize & Blue, but drive only a short 45 minutes south and the tide turns to Scarlet & Gray! Saturday football around here is never boring!

Now we all know the games are the big deal, but you’ll have to admit that food and drink go hand in hand with football viewing, right? Tailgating and parties at home NEED great food and beverages. Football feasting requires lots of sandwiches, chips, loads of dips, munchie food and why not a tasty adult beverage?

We’re sharing two fun Bloody Mary recipes that have been created by our friends at Johnsonville. Yes, Johnsonville! You’re going to love these recipes, they are specifically created to highlight both Michigan and Ohio State!

Big Blue Bloody Mary

Are you ready for some NCAA football? We have 2 perfectly paired NCAA Football Bloody Mary Recipes for your tailgating or game viewing parties.

Servings: 4 cocktails

Prep time: 15 minutes

Ingredients:

1 cup blueberry vodka

3 cups standard bloody mary mix or tomato juice

1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce

1/4 cup lemon juice

2 teaspoons hot sauce

2 Johnsonville Smoked Sausages

8 Blueberries

8 Mozzarella Balls

Directions:

In a pitcher, mix vodka, Bloody Mary mix or tomato juice, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice and hot sauce.

Pour into 4 glasses with ice.

Cut smoked sausage into pieces.

For the garnish, assemble each of the four skewers with pieces of smoked sausage, blueberries and pieces of Mozzarella.

 

Undisputed Bloody Mary

Prep time: 15 minutes

Ingredients:

1 cup Vodka

3 cups Bloody Mary mix or tomato juice

1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce

2 teaspoon hot sauce

1/4 teaspoon ground pepper

1 tablespoon horseradish sauce

1/4 teaspoon celery salt

2 Johnsonville turkey sausages

 8 artichoke heart wedges

4 Parmesan cheese chunks

 4 Buckeye sprigs

Directions:

In a shaker or pitcher, mix vodka, Bloody Mary mix or tomato juice, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, ground pepper, horseradish and celery salt.

Pour into 4 glasses with ice.

Cut turkey sausage into pieces.

For the garnish, assemble each of the four skewers with turkey sausage, artichoke hearts and parmesan chunks. Place skewer and Buckeye sprig into glass.
