Some our blogger friends have gotten together to share some amazing recipes with one of the oldest known beverages on earth…BEER!!!  We couldn’t be more excited!  I do enjoy a good quality beer, been enjoying the “micro-brew” varieties since the mid-1990’s when they first started popping up on the market.  Once you’ve had a really great beer, you become more choosy in what you will consume.  And with the ever growing amount of micro or craft breweries in the US, you won’t be hard pressed to find a fabulous quality beer with amazing flavor.

For me luckily I’m spoiled in the great state of Michigan, we have some downright delicious beers within our fine state.  My all-time favorite is Oberon by Bell’s Brewery in Kalamazoo.  Oberon is described by Bell’s as: a wheat ale fermented with Bell’s signature house ale yeast, mixing a spicy hop character with mildly fruity aromas. The addition of wheat malt lends a smooth mouth-feel, making it a classic summer beer. It is available seasonally and is AWESOME!  It never fails, has just the right hop balance and I look forward to my first Oberon of the season each and every year.

Good beer is always on hand during the summer months, and there’s nothing wrong with a cold bottle of beer on a hot summer day, nothing at all. Once in awhile though, I like to have something different.  Awhile back I meandered upon a recipe while browsing Pinterest, finally got around to making it, and boy am I glad I did….it is really delish! So, without further ado, presenting…Beer Mimosa with Raspberries!

Now you may be scratching your head a bit, and saying “don’t Mimosas contain Champagne?”. Well, yes they do normally, unless you choose to use another fermented ingredients such as BEER!!!  So, now that we’re past that, just bear with me for a minute while I explain why Beer Mimosa with Raspberries is so incredibly tasty.  With a great beer like Oberon the OJ and raspberries just bring our another level of flavor.  You can use any good quality lighter beer that you choose, I would not suggest a dark variety or one that has undertones that are strong.  I think you’ll agree with me that this is very drinkable and perfectly suited to summertime sipping!

Now I do have to mention another amazing Michigan brewing company that we also enjoy, they produce fine craft beers and you really should check them out also.  Arbor Brewing Company is located in Ann Arbor, Michigan and has an amazing selection, gotta love those Michigan beers!
