Strawberry Banana Smoothie

Smoothie

My kids LOVE smoothies. Breakfast, snack, 80 degrees , -20 degrees  it doesn’t matter. They are quick to make, healthy and duh they are yummy! I came up with this smoothie “recipe” that my kids say taste better than the ones you can get at the expensive smoothie places, so I guess you could call it a Take-out-Fake-out. Enjoy!

Strawberry Banana Smoothie

Serving Size: 4-6 smoothies depending how you portion it out

Ingredients

  • 3 cups frozen strawberries
  • 1 whole ripe banana
  • 1 cup vanilla or plain yogurt ( I try to get one that has at least 10 grams of protein)
  • 2 cups orange juice
  • 4 Tbsp. sugar or honey
  • 1 cup ice
  • 2 Tbsp. wheat germ
  • 2 Tbsp. ground flax
  • splash of milk

Instructions

  1. Put all ingredients into blender.
  2. Blend until smooth, you may have to scrap down the sides to make sure it all gets blended. If it seems really thick add in the splash of milk to thin it out.
  3. Pour into cups and enjoy!
