Banana Protein Smoothie

I don’t know who eats what in your house, but I have one and sometimes two VERY fussy eaters.  I don’t sweat it too much because my oldest was uber fussy too and he’s just fine at almost 7.  He will try everything once (doesn’t mean he loves it but he’s at least trying it!).  So as long as my kids get their nutrition I am pretty lax in making them all eat the same things at the same time kind of thing:)

Now, boy #3 has decided in the last few months to really test my patience.  He is lucky he is cute.  His daily banana?  GONE.  His grapes, blueberries, etc?  Yeah they left a while ago.

So I started making smoothies.  I make all kinds of smoothies.  Green ones, pink ones, purple ones.  It’s not a perfect world, but I need to know he’s getting the daily nutrition that he needs and if smoothies are the only way to do this?  Fine, I’m game.

After he gave up the banana, I had to start making 2 smoothies a day (that kid better worship me).  Meh whatever, it actually makes breakfast pretty easy since I give the morning smoothie to middle boy since he is slow and fussy in the mornings too!

Here is what I came up with (This Serves 2!)

Banana Protein Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 2 bananas
  • 2 Tbsp Ground Flax seed
  • 2 Tbsp Peanut Butter
  • about 1.5 cups of milk (I use skim)

Instructions

  1. Put into blender and hit blend.
  2. If your kids want it colder more "ice cream" like put a little ice in it.

Just like that a healthy easy breakfast is served!
