I love fresh made bread. I love everything about it. The smell, the taste, the texture… but not the work to make it! My mom gave me her bread machine about a year ago. It has sat in my pantry closet since the day we brought it home. I decided while my husband is away Grouse hunting with his family, that I would give it a try. His mom is a bread making goddess. She knows her recipe by heart and doesn’t measure anything. If you stop by her house on any given day, there is always a fresh loaf of homemade bread; ready and waiting to be enjoyed! I’m no where near the goddess that she is when it comes to making bread. I can make a decent banana bread, but that’s about it.
Here is the recipe I decided to try as my first loaf of bread.
3 cups of bread flour (I used all purpose)
1 cup warm water (110 degrees F)
3 Tablespoons of sugar
2 1/4 teaspoons of active yeast
1 1/2 teaspoons of salt
3 tablespoons of vegetable oil
I literally just dumped everything in the bread machine and turned it on medium crust and basic bread.
Here is the finished product in the bread machine. YUM!!! I sliced some this morning and toasted it. Not too bad for my first attempt! The recipe was so quick and easy, give it a try! My MIL sent home a loaf of bread that she made. I made lasagna and decided to make garlic toast using MY bread instead of MIL’s. Kent actually thought it was his mom’s bread! SCORE!!!
